Online Training
In 2014, the full set of NSW Bishop’s Conference mandated training modules (for new Catechists) were made available online. The modules were provided in a video format with accompanying reading materials and multiple choice/true-false quizzes. Each module takes from 30-90 minutes to complete.
The training was developed by CCRESS (Catholic Conference of Religious Educators in State Schools) with the support of the NSW Bishop’s Conference.
In 2018, we began the move to a new Online Training service, provided by OpenLearning. At time of writing, Child Protection, Classroom Management and Special Religious Education in the Parish and School modules were available for completion online. Over the coming months, we are moving towards all 9 modules being online and ready.
